I found this very useful for me.

Very easy now to integrate jQuery with Freeway scripts ( Prototype ) together. The official jQuery documentation did confuse me http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.noConflict/

I stumbled upon this Indian YouTube quick tutorial and now have all jQuery working seamlessly with Freeway, I hope this helps someone as it did me.

The Prototype library is about 50KB, script.aculo.us is about 200KB all in, and jQuery is about 60KB. That’s all before you start adding your own HTML and scripts and Resources. Your page can get top-heavy very quickly.
