Intaglio 3 and LaTeXiT
I’ve been using LaTeXiT for several years with Intaglio to place equations into my drawings. Upon upgrading to version 3, this is now a cumbersome task. Intaglio complains with an error: “Can’t complete this command. Unknown type.” The only choice I have is to hit cancel on the dialogue box. Then Intaglio says “Can’t complete this command. -4960.” And again the only choice is to hit cancel. Despite all this, the PDF equation from LaTeXiT is successfully imported.
How can I get these very annoying dialogue boxes from popping up? This is one of the main things I use Intaglio for, so it is a major nuisance.
Thanks!
Nick
19 Sep 2008, 6:03 pmError -4960 is the rather unhelpful system error “Core Foundation Unknown Error”. If the Console application is open when you experience the error it should display the file location where the error occurs. If you send me this information at nick (at) purgatorydesign.com I’ll try to track down the problem.

22 Sep 2008, 2:01 amSorry, but nothing shows up in Console when viewing “All messages”. Wish I could provide more helpful information for this bug. Is it possible to downgrade to the latest pre-3.0 version?
Thanks

6 Oct 2008, 11:58 amI have the same problem as Kevin: drag and drop from LaTeXit into Intaglio 3 produces an error message; my work around is to use “copy and paste” rather than drag and drop; slightly less convenient, but at least I avoid this error message. It seems to be a problem specific to Intaglio 3: drag and drom from LaTeXit into Keynote gives no error.

8 Oct 2008, 8:22 pmperhaps one extra piece of information might help with trouble shooting: after “drag & drop” from LaTeXit into Intaglio 3, and after clicking away the error messages, the object is positioned in the far upper-left corner of the canvas; evidently, what goes wrong is the instruction where to “drop” the object on the Intaglio canvas.

2 Feb 2010, 9:47 amHi all,
I am reopening this thread as this bug affects me as well and it is very annoying, as I continuously produce LaTeX formulae with LaTeXit and then drag/drop them to Intaglio.
As far as Console is concerned, here is what I see on the screen
02/02/2010 10:42:56 LaTeXiT[36781] [0x10450e530 : LatexitEquation color] “result = NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace 0.383169 0.400107 0.41619 1” 02/02/2010 10:42:56 LaTeXiT[36781] [0x10450e530 : LatexitEquation color] “result = NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace 0.383169 0.400107 0.41619 1” 02/02/2010 10:42:56 LaTeXiT[36781] [0x10450e530 : LatexitEquation color] “result = NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace 0.383169 0.400107 0.41619 1” 02/02/2010 10:42:56 LaTeXiT[36781] [0x10450e530 : LatexitEquation color] “result = NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace 0.383169 0.400107 0.41619 1” 02/02/2010 10:42:56 LaTeXiT[36781] [0x10450e530 : LatexitEquation color] “result = NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace 0.383169 0.400107 0.41619 1”
In other words, there seem to be no messages from Intaglio.
Is there any chance to understand at least whether this is a bug of LaTeXit or Intaglio? Any chances to have it fixed?
Best. Daniele

I don’t use LaTeXiT but there are people on macosx- email@hidden who do and, every once in a while, I see mentions of LaTeXiT bugs there. You might want to try it.

2 Feb 2010, 10:35 amThanks Alain,
I will do, but I am inclined to think this is an Intaglio issue, as LaTeXit merrily lets me drag and drop formulae everywhere but in Intaglio.

4 Feb 2010, 3:57 pmJust to point out that in the newly-released version of Intaglio (3.0.2), this bug persists, with the only difference that the dropped image does not get imported. With the previous version, Intaglio complained but at the end the image was imported correctly.

4 Feb 2010, 7:59 pmyep, it’s still there, but the work-around still works: Command-Option-C for copy and Command-V for paste, it’s only slightly less convenient than drag-and-drop.
