Setting up Pay Par Click
HI, I’ve been asked about Pay Per Click systems and how would one be set up. I haven’t a clue - are there any out there which could be plugged into easily?
This isn’t a case of using Google as the system will be targeting a very narrow band of adverts. I’ll know more next week, but I’d like to get a head start on what’s involved.

Your using our hosting. Look at Openads (OpenX) in your hosting
control Panel. One click install it into a directory and have a play
around with it. Its one of the scripts Walt has kindly listed on his
Hotscripts search URL.

8 Sep 2008, 10:33 amDavid - I’m not using your hosting ;-)
I’ve more information now, and really what’s needed is an online solution, not some scripts. Client is looking for a system where the clicks are counted and payments taken without him getting involved with invoicing directly. He’s anticipating a lot of traffic, but at the same time he’s not wanting to employ staff to handle the advertising payment side of his business.
He’s speaking to a company tomorrow which should be able to provide a pre-packed solution which we can just plug into from our end.
The downside of all this is that the site he’s proposing will require a CMS to do most of the heavy lifting, which make life interesting.

But even so - check out open ads http://www.openx.org - although it
looks like a learning curve will be needed.
